Those who have
suffered a heart attack, stroke or heart attack, they return to work after
treatment, but their monthly or annual income decreases significantly.
Researchers at the
University of Manitoba in Canada commented on the same.
Cardiovascular
disease is one of the major causes of global death. Among the 65-year-old
working people, three-part heart attacks, 25 percent of stroke and 40 percent
of cardiac arrest.
Treatment of these
diseases, such as long-term, long after surgery, to stay in bed too many days.
And most patients can not go back to the previous working days, bound by
different restrictions.
Researchers found
that intense 'myocardial infarction', 'cardiac arrest' and stroke were all due
to significant erosion. As a result, the patient's next three-year income has
been damaged. As a percentage, it is about eight to 30 percent of the patient
and the severity of the disease.
Those who can go
back to work, their treatment decreased by about 20 percent compared to the
year before.
Impact of income
has come down to the patient's own, his family, his workplace, even on the
government.
The research is
published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Professor Alan
Gerland of the University of Manitoba said, "Because of the disease,
unemployment and income loss are related to the socioeconomic situation. The
physical and socioeconomic condition of the patient affects his own, his family
and the government. Bankruptcies, rehabilitation and reducing performance are
among these influences. "
The researcher team
observed the effects of these physical problems on labor market and the
consequences of 19,129 patients of 40 to 61 years for the study.
None of the
participants were previously diagnosed with heart disease and all were working
before heart disease.
Researchers hope that this study will help patients
with cardiovascular diseases, which will help in making necessary steps and
policies in returning to workplace.
